Self Portraits

This was taken after I ran out of creative ideas. I then just went on with my day and as i did some of the things i do, like eat food, I would take a picture of it. Success?

I tried capturing a few pictures of pain or anger. This was a fun one because I was actually screaming as I took this.

I tired to come across as very silly in some of my pictures. If anyone knows me, they know i like to act like this most of the time ;)

For this picture, I was inspired by a previous photo student who wrote on her face. This picture was not supposed to be so hard but I like it because my eyes are saying something that only the person looking at the picture can interpret.

Overall it was a difficult project because I don't usually like taking pictures of myself and I definitely did not like developing them. :P

Light

For this project I basically took a walk just around my house and found subjects to photograph. It was difficult because my camera will not allow me to take pictures inside or up close, so I had a hard time finding a good subject under the right light to photograph.

Portraits

These pictures were all taken at my sister's wedding last month. It was an outdoor wedding in Scappoose Oregon off of the river. I went around and got to know many of the people there and asked if i could take a picture of them being themselves for my photo project. 

Here is my older step brother, Jacob. I like this picture because it shows his funny personality.

This is my dad. I took this picture of him while he was in conversation with a friend. I like it because people see it two different ways; either he is about to laugh because you can see the crack in his smile, or he looks dignified in his stance. He was the proud father of the bride.

This is a girl that ran up to me and asked me to take a picture of her. She obviously knew what to do in front of a camera.

I enjoyed this project because I was able to meet new people and ask them to take a picture of them which is a personal thing. I had to come out of my shell to do this and I figured out that i like taking pictures of people.

One thing

I chose to take 24 photos of this fish mobile because i figured there would be many different angles and pictures to take. Unfortunately only a few pictures turned out on the roll. I like this one because of the many different shades of color.

Photogram

For these photos i decided to use some of my grandma's jewelry that was passed down to me. I thought the light would make very interesting shadows with the chain and the owls.

Pinhole Camera

                                      

I chose to take a photograph of a tree with my pinhole camera because I thought the leaves and the branches would stand out in contrast to the sky and the ground. 

So far, in my Photography class I have learned that I enjoy taking photos but it takes a lot of work to get it just right.
